Miami, FL (PRWEB) February 3, 2011
The owners of Miami’s newest live music and entertainment venue, The Stage, are impassioned when it comes to the impact art can have on a child. After watching schools cut art programs for years, owners Carlos Garcia and Sasha Torres wanted to give the community a place where children can experience art in its many forms. With their Family-Style-Sundays at The Stage parents and children have a whole new arena to explore music, art and food every weekend.
Every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Family-Style-Sundays at The Stage will host a farmer’s market style festival that includes live music, various activities, and local vendors. There is no entry fee. Food is available from Gastropod, Miami’s mobile gourmet, which will have a permanent home at The Stage in the near future. The Stage will also offer interactive art and music classes in the the coming months.
“What I think attracts families on Sundays is this relaxed vibe that comes from having great bands like Stokeswood and Locos Por Juana,” said Lizzie Easton of Soula Booking, one of the minds behind The Stage. The Stage has invited some of Miami’s hottest bands to come out on Sundays to showcase more mellow sounds complementary to the family environment.
Inspired by the French Market in New Orleans, Garcia saw how families flocked to a kid-friendly weekend diversion. “I think it’s vital to get back to the basics. We get so wrapped up with our everyday lives that we forget how important it is to spend quality time with our families,” he explained. Sunday’s have always been reserved as a family day, “at The Stage we’re giving families something much more exciting to do than family dinner” Torres boasted.
The 10,000 square foot venue (3,200 square feet inside and 7,000 square feet outside) showcases the perfect set up for performance and pleasure. With the stage as the focal point, guests are guaranteed a perfect view and an unforgettable experience. State-of-the-art acoustics, an intimate ambiance and various amenities ensure both the artist and audience unparalleled entertainment. The Stage presents a unique space for up to 1,000 people. It is ideal for record release parties, photo shoots, exhibitions, fashion shows, cover parties, product launches, and corporate happy hours.
The Stage is the latest venue to join Miami’s booming Music Corridor which stretches from the perimeter of Brickell to the Design District.
