California-based Geodelic developed a mobile application where businesses can provide location-relevant information and offers to customers at or near their business location.
If you are a business, you probably have a website, and perhaps blog, Facebook, and Twitter, where you share information with customers. How do you share information and special offers with customers who are physically in or near your business location?
Geodelic has a mobile application where consumers can view nearby businesses and learn relevant information about their current location. Using the location kit from Verizon Wireless’ NavBuilder Inside, the Geodelic app detects a user’s location and displays nearby businesses the user may want to try. “Using Verizon’s new location APIs, we can provide more relevant content and instantly connect consumers to the offers and events they want,” says Rahul Sonnad, CEO of Geodelic Systems.
With smartphone sales up 96% from Fall 2009 to Fall 2010, businesses have an opportunity to engage customers on their mobile device when they are at or nearby a business location. “The more effective positioning from Verizon [Wireless’] NBI location kit enables new scenarios for businesses looking to customize their mobile engagement based on a user’s location.”
Geodelic provides web-based tools for businesses and brands to create and publish customized GeoGuides. With GeoGuides, a business can build a mobile, location-relevant guide containing custom branding, geo-contextual custom maps, and social network integration. Aside from information such as store hours, menu items, and directions, businesses can also use the Geodelic platform to facilitate customer loyalty programs, mobile commerce, and special offers.
Early adopters of the Geodelic platform and GeoGuides include Universal Studios which created a theme park guide containing a detailed park map and ride wait times, ClearChannel which created a FlySmart application featuring flight departure times and custom terminal maps, and the City of Santa Monica which created a visitors application containing recommendations for tourists.
The Geodelic app is available for free download in the Verizon store and in the Android marketplace. Businesses and brands can visit the Geodelic website and get in touch with our Business Development team to learn more.
Venture financed Geodelic is a Southern California-based startup developing an app and a local relevance platform that has become a market leader in place-based engagement. Early adopters of the platform include Universal Studio’s guide to theme parks, and Clearchannel’s FlySmart App, a comprehensive travel and airport guide. Verizon, T-Mobile, Korea Telecom, and Vodaphone have licensed the Geodelic Platform as their architecture for merchant guides, local deals, mobile payment processing, and loyalty programs.
