Roswell, GA (PRWEB) February 1, 2011
Already heralded by customers for its flexibility and robust security measures, Rover Apps announced today important enhancements to its mobile enterprise application platform (MEAP) concerning mobile device access to enterprise data.
From its first release, Rover’s MEAP has provided secure corporate data access without requiring administrators to manage individual devices. In some circumstances, however, an enterprise may want to control which devices can access their data. For these instances, administrators using Rover may now impose device limits on any user account. For example, a user may be approved to connect one device in the next 24 hours, after that, no new devices may access the gateway using those credentials. If a device is lost, the administrator may block it from ever reaching that gateway again. Critical for many reasons, this new feature provides administrators even more control of how users access enterprise data behind the firewall.
“It’s no surprise that security is the number one concern of enterprises contemplating extending access to behind-the-firewall data for mobile users,” said Jonathan Foulkes, CEO of Rover Apps. “Administrators need to have complete confidence that all exchanges with a mobile user will be handled securely with full, round-trip encryption and on the device. They also want the ability to completely control which devices can be used to access data. With this important security enhancement, Rover is an even more flexible, powerful and valuable platform for enterprises going mobile.”
Providing a complete review of its platform’s security features, Rover has prepared a new white paper on MEAP security which is available here http://roverapps.com/security/
