Magic Lapdesk, maker of Apple accessories, today launched a new line of lapdesks designed to combine Apple’s Magic Trackpad and wireless keyboard. The patent pending lapdesks create a more comfortable and ergonomic experience, increasing trackpad and keyboard functionality.

While watching his roommate use Apple’s wireless keyboard in his lap, Alex Spurgeon noticed how cumbersome and difficult it could be. Because the keyboard is so small and lightweight, it is hard to balance it in one’s lap. Spurgeon quickly came up with a solution to this problem by constructing a simple lapdesk made of corrugated plastic and gave it to his roommate for testing. Four prototypes and two provisional patents later, Spurgeon’s company, Magic Lapdesk, has released a line of products that solve this simple problem.

Magic Lapdesk’s line of products provides a solution for those who wish to use peripherals at a distance. "The lapdesks will be of tremendous use to all iMac, Macbook, and Apple TV users because they allow users to move away from their desks and into a more comfortable setting," said Alex Spurgeon, owner of MagicLapdesk.com.

While many lapdesks only provide a surface for users to work on, the Magic Lapdesk's innovative design has brought together several features that have never been seen before in a lapdesk. The dry erase surface allows for note taking while the peripheral slots allow for the Magic Trackpad and wireless keyboard to be secured to the lapdesk. The Magic Lapdesk is made with a high strength yet light weight twin wall plastic core, which is laminated with dry erase material.

With the growing market for lapdesks, many of them are designed to be universal. The Magic Lapdesk however, is tailored specifically for Apple iMac users. The lapdesk is designed to hold the wireless keyboard and Magic Trackpad in a laptop style configuration, and this allows users to emulate the way they use a laptop.
