Draker Laboratories, a provider of high performance turnkey monitoring systems for large commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, was selected by Alteris Renewables to monitor a new solar farm located in Ferrisburgh, VT. The 1-megawatt solar farm was commissioned in December 2010 and is currently the state’s largest solar PV project. The system contains 3,806 solar panels and produces enough energy to power approximately 170 homes. Draker is providing its Sentalis base station hardware and instrumentation to collect data from the PV system as well as a web-based interface that provides advanced performance analysis and reporting capabilities. Draker also supplied an informational public view website located in the facility’s visitor center that provides educational information about the solar plant’s operations.
