Oakland, CA (PRWEB) February 1, 2011
Pan Theater is holding open auditions for Improv Training Troupes on February 13, 16, 17, and 20.
Those with a basic improv background and experienced improvisers are encouraged to take part in this opportunity to become a part of the Pan Theater, the premier community for improvisational theater in the East Bay. Audition registration and further information can be found at http://www.pantheater.com.
Training troupes at Pan Theater are a place for individuals to explore their improv skills with the help of an experienced and encouraging coach. Central to Pan’s philosophy is to promote bonding and trust among the members of the training troupes to provide a safe and fun environment to explore different characters, themes, and acting skills. The troupes will perform for the public at Pan’s performance space.
Members of Pan’s performing and training troupes come from diverse backgrounds. Some have extensive performing arts backgrounds, others hold office jobs, are students; all are looking to be a part of a creative, performing community. “From the beginning, students at Pan (Theater) will feel like they are a vital part of an improv community that is as unique as the individuals who walk through its doors. Whether you are looking to gain a greater understanding of theater and improv in general, or a looking to be a part of a dynamic ensemble, Pan is the place to go,” observes a former Training Troupe member.
Pan Theater’s auditions are for both its Short-Form and Long-Form troupes. The Short Form Troupe will perform games and formats similar to Whose Line Is It Anyway? The Long Form Troupe will explore longer narrative scenes, that further explore time, place, relationships or a genre. Troupes have a chance to perform for the public at Pan Theater’s performance space.
