Star Wars Reaches Crieff, Perthshire

As Ewan McGregor launches his latest film Perfect Sense, in which he plays a fiery cook, the crieff-born star has claimed inspiration from his schoolboy job in our Perthshire hotel kitchen.

As Ewan McGregor launches his latest film Perfect Sense, in which he plays a fiery cook, the crieff-born star has claimed inspiration from his schoolboy job in a Perthshire kitchen.

Journalists have been frantically tracking down the former Head Chef, keen to establish if he had the Ramsay-style temper that McGregor claimed.

Meanwhile in the star's hometown, The Murraypark Hotel which was the scene for all the action is enjoying the blaze of publicity. The charming hotel is now owned by nearby Crieff Hydro Resort, itself popular with a few celebrities, and another place where the young Ewan MacGregor once worked - this time in the Horse Riding Centre.

According to current Murraypark Hotel manager Callum Helps, "Hotel kitchens are not completely unlike the way they are portrayed on TV. There is pressure to get it right for the customer and that's certainly one thing that hasn't changed since Ewan was here."

On the back of the new film release. Perfect Sense, The Murraypark had launched its latest promotion “Perfect Place” offering best rate to anyone who quotes Ewan’s film on booking.
