Point Pleasant, NJ (PRWEB) February 2, 2011
The Jersey Shore upstart brew, Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner will be showcased alongside some of the best American and International breweries on Saturday, February 5th at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. John Merklin, co-founder of East Coast Beer Co. and Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner, will also be a guest speaker at a beer seminar called “Starting a Brewing Company.”
This is the first Annual International Great Beer Expo at the Meadowlands. The Great Beer Expo has been hosted in Philadelphia, PA, Cuddebackville, NY and Unionville, NY over the last three years, but has expanded its following to New Jersey. A beer tasting extravaganza, more than 50 breweries from Japan, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Austria, Nicaragua, Thailand, Poland, New Zealand, Indonesia, Sweden, China, and more will provide samples of their country’s proudest brewing achievement.
Shoulder to shoulder with these greats, Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner has rightfully earned their place.
“We are stoked to be a part of this event,” said John, Merk, Merklin. Co. “It’s exciting to be showcasing our beer next to some of the brews that inspired my partner Brian and me to leave our jobs and start our very own beer company.”
The signature brew that East Coast Beer Co. will be showcasing is Beach Haus®, a refreshing Classic American Pilsner, reminiscent of the old German-American style of brewing. The full-flavored, year round, pre-prohibition style Pilsner uses all-American ingredients, including Mt. Hood Hops, and is brewed to perfection reflecting a unique taste and style of the Jersey Shore. Beach Haus® is only the first of many brews to come from East Coast Beer Co.
Tickets for the event are $40 purchased online, in advance of the event, and $55 at the door; however, they are limited and selling quickly according to their website, http://www.greatbeerexpo.com/meadowlands. They are even selling $10 tickets for designated drivers, encouraging all their guests to be safe and not drink and drive.
The event is also a sponsor of the Beer for Brains Foundation, which is a national, nonprofit organization of craft-beer lovers, distributors and brewers who are committed to raising public awareness about brain cancer, engendering compassion for its victims and helping fund groundbreaking research leading to a cure. The money raised goes to support the development of cutting-edge brain cancer research and treatment options at the new Barrow Brain Tumor Research Center (BBTRC), in Phoenix, AZ.
Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner aspires to become a pillar of industry at the Jersey Shore, and a household name to craft-beer lovers. While John and Brian work towards their dream, they are just two local guys fueling their love of craft beer and the Jersey Shore. It’s in the Haus!
