Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) February 3, 2011
IntApp, Inc., the provider of the most-adopted ethical walls software product for law firms, today announced that Fried Frank LLP, an international law firm comprising over 500 lawyers and 7 offices, uses IntApp Wall Builder to manage internal confidentiality policies, enforce information access restrictions and track compliance across the firm.
Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific policies and tracks acknowledgments for compliance purposes.
"We partnered with IntApp and implemented Wall Builder in order to address our firm's ethical screening and confidentiality management requirements because it's the clear industry standard, adopted by more law firms than any other product in this category," said Steve Lewis, Director of Information Systems, Fried Frank LLP. "Wall Builder provides our firm with a single interface to manage confidentiality across the firm and smoothly integrates with our existing business processes and software applications, including Autonomy iManage and Open Text LegalKEY."
Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for many reasons. These include waiver-driven ethical screens, client outside counsel guidelines, and compliance with regulations such as the HITECH Act, ITAR and several data privacy laws.
Wall Builder is the most-adopted ethical walls and confidentiality management software by law firms with 150 or more lawyers. According to an independent survey by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) of its membership published in October, 2010, 74% of large law firms using commercial software to enforce ethical screens to secure access to confidential information use IntApp Wall Builder.
Wall Builder replaces distributed, ad hoc approaches to information security with a centralized system that provides organizations with unprecedented capability and control over user access to specific applications, documents and other information. It's the only product for law firms that delivers real-time enforcement while updating access rights in response to attorney behavior to ensure that policies are kept up to date automatically.
"Fried Frank is taking strong steps to respond to industry confidentiality management and compliance requirements," said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. "We're proud to support their ongoing success as a member of the growing IntApp client community."
IntApp provides software products and services that enable law firms to increase revenue, ensure client confidentiality, manage risk and maximize lawyer productivity. With over 150 customers, including 57 of the 100 largest US firms as ranked by The American Lawyer, and a vibrant partner community, IntApp has been embraced and endorsed as an industry standard. According to an independent industry survey conducted by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), IntApp Wall Builder is the most-adopted commercial ethical walls software product by law firms with 150 or more lawyers.
