Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) February 2, 2011
Clark Freightways is proud to announce that it has become the first freight company in British Columbia to earn the Certificate of Recognition (COR) designation. This workplace health and safety award, presented by the Trucking Safety Council of B.C., recognizes Clark's commitment to safety in the workplace.
The awards ceremony takes place at Clark's head office located at 35 Burbidge Street, Coquitlam, B.C. on February 2, 2011. This public event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and features messages from Minister of Labour Iain Black, WorkSafeBC, the Trucking Safety Council of B.C., and Clark Freightways. A question period and a tour of the facility will follow the awards presentation.
Clark Freightways has earned its award through a commitment to promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace. Clark believes that worker injury and illness can be prevented and promotes this principle throughout the company, from its management to each and every employee.
The Trucking Safety Council of B.C.'s COR program uses focused management training and a company audit system to promote a positive safety culture within organizations. Under this program, trucking companies place equal importance on health and safety as on sales or productivity.
