The future of a consciousness-based healthcare system is being revealed through rigorous scientific experiments conducted by the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) on mind-matter interaction, pre-cognitive abilities, and distant healing. To ensure that these scientific discoveries improve how health and healing professionals work with clients and evolve their practice, IONS today launched a special membership campaign to support their career development goals.

Health and healing professionals who join IONS at the partner-level will receive a collection of professional development tools to help them incorporate the benefits of consciousness research into their practices. New partner-level members gain free access to “Toward a Healing Health Care System,” a recorded four-part CEC course on using consciousness and transformation practices to optimize healing outcomes for their patients. The series features visionary practitioners offering innovative-edge insights, tools, and techniques, including: "On Nightingale, Nursing, and Creating a Healthy World" with Barbara Dossey; "Creating Optimal Healing Environments" with Mary Jo Kreitzer; Therapeutic Touch, Habits for Healing, and Spiritual Inquiry," with Janet F. Quinn; A Caritas Model of Caring Science, with Jean Watson.

As part of its health care membership campaign, IONS also has developed a special audio and pdf set for partner-level members. The set includes a three-part recording of the paper, “The Integral Model: Answering the Call for Whole Systems Health Care,” read by the author, Dr. Marilyn Schlitz, as well as a pdf of the article, which was published by the Kaiser Permanente Journal. The package also includes a corresponding recording of IONS journal club teleseminar in which Dr. Schlitz discusses and answers questions about the publication. All of IONS’ audio materials are available as links to downloadable Mp3 recordings.

Live Weekly Teleseminars
Health care professionals who become IONS’ members at the partner-level also have free access to all of IONS’ live weekly teleseminars that feature interviews with leaders in consciousness, healing, and transformation, including Deepak Chopra who will participate in a June teleseminar. The interviews are formatted to offer insightful and practical information that health care workers can use to take their practice to the next level. They each include a Q-and-A session to foster discussion with presenters, allowing them to directly address health care-related issues. Recordings are available a few days after the live calls.

Other thank-you gifts available to members at the partner level include the semi-annual Noetic Post, a print publication with insightful and educational articles as well as monthly emails with the latest news and links to website updates.

Consciousness and Healing Research
IONS’ scientific research and inquiries into human nature are being conducted at leading medical institutions like the California Pacific Medical Center and the University of California, San Francisco. Its work is opening doors on exciting new practices and healing methods. Examples of IONS ground-breaking research include:

REMISSION RESEARCH: This ten-year project examined the existing medical literature and brought together more than 3,500 reports of spontaneous remission from cancer and other diseases. The material has been organized according to the International Classification of Diseases System and the best 1,350 cases gathered into a 732-page volume entitled Spontaneous Remission: An Annotated Bibliography.

MEDITATION, STRESS AND MOOD: IONS developed and pilot-tested an eight-week mindfulness-based program directed toward reducing stress and improving mood in pregnancy and early postpartum. Mothers who received the intervention showed significantly reduced anxiety and negative affect during the third trimester compared to those who did not receive the intervention. This research program will soon be developed into an online course.
