Lombard, IL (PRWEB) February 28, 2011
Solarsoft Business Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software and IT services to manufacturers, distributors and wholesale businesses worldwide, announced today that its enterprise resource planning software for folding carton manufacturers, Accelerate, has helped to streamline the operations and internal processes for American Carton Company, an independent full service designer and manufacturer of folding cartons. American Carton, based in Mansfield, Texas, has been using Solarsoft since May 2010.
“We serve a wide range of small to large manufacturers in Texas and the surrounding states. Our customers manufacture various products, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, food items, and other consumer products,” says Trent Tucker, General Manager at American Carton. “Our previous system was originally designed for corrugated packaging manufacturers and couldn’t manage our more complex production. We ended up using a variety of different systems and had to duplicate our efforts to make up for the deficiencies and lack of integration. Now, with the Accelerate system, we have one integrated system that handles everything for us, from estimating, to materials management, to inventory control as well as production planning and shipping.”
With Solarsoft’s Accelerate system, American Carton has been able to leave behind spreadsheet-based estimating, separate databases used for inventory management, raw material allocations and finished goods tracking, along with manual systems for scheduling. “The flexibility and level of control of the scheduling and estimating modules have really impressed us,” adds Tucker. “We can now easily allocate raw materials against jobs, and can keep up with real-time inventories, helping us with traceability. We can just look in the system, and the information is all there. Solarsoft has been a big factor in streamlining of our business processes.”
