“Traveling and exploring regions around the world provide new experiences that keep my creative eye open and have a positive effect on my work,” said Jove Wang.

American Legacy Fine Arts will unveil new works from contemporary-traditional artist Jove Wang during the exhibition "Jove Wang in Europe," on view at the private gallery in Pasadena from February 12 to March 19, 2011.

A reception with the Chinese-born artist, who graduated with honors from China’s most prestigious art institute, the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now named the China Academy of Art), will be held Saturday, February 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In this solo exhibition of nearly 20 works, the gallery will showcase artwork created by Wang as he journeyed through the famed cities and pristine countrysides of Italy, France and Switzerland. The result is a vibrant tour of Europe’s diverse landscapes and centers of culture.

“With 'Jove Wang in Europe,' American Legacy Fine Arts is honored to present Jove Wang’s first solo exhibition that is devoted to paintings of life in Europe,” said ALFA Director Elaine Adams. “While Jove Wang is renowned for painting landscapes, urban and village scenes and figurative work from around the globe – and most notably his native China – the romance and charm of Europe are well suited for his lively and energetic compositions rendered with his inimitable bravura brushwork,” added Adams.

The paintings to be showcased range from picturesque views of the Venice canals and Parisian landmarks along the Seine River to the dramatic sight of the Swiss Alps after an avalanche. Each work underscores the artist’s philosophy to interpret the “soul” of a place on canvas.

“I’ve dedicated my career as an artist to depicting in my paintings my fascination of both Western and Eastern cultures,” remarked Wang. “Traveling and exploring regions around the world provide new experiences that keep my creative eye open and have a positive effect on my work,” he added.
