We have worked closely with the SAG Foundation over the past few months to add some of the brightest, most exciting talent in Hollywood," according to Gabe Codding, tournament director for the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

The Kraft Nabisco Championship and the Screen Actors Guild Foundation have released an early list of celebrity commitments for the Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am. The Pro-Am will be held Tuesday, March 29, and Wednesday, March 30, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., during the LPGA major’s Tournament Week.

More than 40 celebrities are scheduled to appear in this year’s Celebrity Pro-Am, which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Established by the legendary Dinah Shore in 1972, the Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am is one of the oldest celebrity pro-ams in all of professional golf.

The celebrity list for this year’s Kraft Nabisco Championship runs the gamut from longtime fan favorites to some of the most exciting new faces in movies and television. Most of the celebrities on the list are making their first appearance at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Scheduled to appear in the 2011 Celebrity Pro-Am are Alice Cooper, Scott Bakula, Dennis Haysbert, Richard Karn, Richard Kind, Joe Pesci, Ron Perlman, Ray Romano and Peter Weller.

“We are pleased to announce this incredible lineup for the Kraft Nabisco Celebrity Pro-Am,” according to Gabe Codding, tournament director for the Kraft Nabisco Championship. “We have worked closely with the SAG Foundation over the past few months to add some of the brightest, most exciting talent in Hollywood in addition to many of our most popular celebrities from years past. We also look forward to announcing several new celebrities in the next few weeks.”

Kraft Nabisco and the SAG Foundation teamed up earlier this year to support the foundation’s Children’s Literacy Initiative and sponsor several BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) events in the desert.

The 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am will be held on both the Arnold Palmer Course and the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club. The Pro-Am will be played over two days, with celebrities offered the choice of playing one day or two. Spectators are encouraged to bring their cameras during both days of the Pro-Am. No cameras are allowed once championship play begins on Thursday, March 31.

The 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship Tournament Week runs Monday, March 28, through Sunday, April 3, at Mission Hills Country Club. This year’s tournament will once again feature nearly 100 of the elite players in women’s professional golf, led by defending champion and LPGA Rolex Player of the Year Yani Tseng, in addition to Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Ai Miyazato, Jiyai Shin and Michelle Wie.
