Youngstown, OH rapper Xcalibur started off spitting silly flows at the age of 8, was writing poetry by 16, and started writing songs by the time he was 22 years old. Growing up, he was taught not to listen to anything but Christian music, to get an education, and strive for his goals in life. From 2000–2008, Excalibur was a member of the US Navy and so he did not start pursuing music on a professional basis until mid-2008. After a few heavy setbacks to his career, he dropped the album Weather Music in February 2010, and was featured on Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes Vol. 138 (hosted by super producer Swizz Beatz) and “The Showcase Vol. 51.” Along with “Fatal Incision,” Xcalibur is working on his new album to be released in the near future.
“You can’t keep away what you feel in your heart and have a passion for,” says Xcalibur. “Like a sniper stalking, scoping, and locking onto its target, or gravity pulling you back to Earth; when it finds you, that’s a wrap.” The emcee doesn’t classify himself under any particular category of rap, “…because I’ma hit hard from all angles, no matter what beat it is. Even if it’s rock, jazz, heavy metal, country, or whatever. The beat is going to need a complete makeover when I’m finished with it.”
