One day last spring, Wendy Bell ran across a cake ball making demonstration on television. She had never heard of a cake ball, but being an avid dessert fan she had to see what it was about. As she watched, her mouth watered at the mere thought of this decadent confectionery delight. It was a bite-sized; ball of cake dipped in chocolate.

Watching this cake ball demonstration gave Wendy immediate thoughts of the wonderful cakes she already prepares for family and friends and taking this idea and applying it to something she already had. And so, It’s a Peace of Cake! was born right here in Sacramento.

It’s a Peace of Cake! offers Cake Balls and Cake Pops online through their website. They have delicious flavors such as Deeply Red Velvet, Decadent Double Fudge, Luscious Lemon, Crazy Coconut and Very Vanilla. All of their Cake Balls are each handmade from scratch with locally farmed eggs and dipped in Guittard Chocolate.

“We’ve had a great response so far. We’ve done Cake Pops and Cake Balls for everything from full wedding cake displays, to shower and wedding favors, corporate and employee gifts, and anywhere else one might need or want a decadent Peace of Cake,” stated owner Wendy Bell.

They’re popular at weddings, parties and as gifts. There’s no need for a plating fee when you use Cake pops as your wedding dessert because there’s no need for a plate. Also, Brides and Wedding coordinators tell us they love that their guests get to enjoy a Cake Pop, go dance and mingle, and then come back and enjoy another. Using Cake Pops and Cake Balls as Wedding and Bridal favors has been a popular request. It’s a Peace of Cake! will decorate Cake Balls to coordinate with your wedding colors and theme. Additionally, vineyards love to pair our cake pops with their wine. Hotels in San Francisco have purchased them for hospitality week for their employees as well.

It’s a Peace of Cake! really took off when Wendy prepared them for family and friends. Unbeknownst to Wendy, her Niece took some to work the next day and almost caused a riot when there weren’t enough to go around. That positive response set the “ball” in motion.
