BOW WOWS & MEOWS, a funny dog and cat comic (endorsed by 'Beetle Bailey' cartoonist Mort Walker and other famous humorists) will soon feature cartoons of the pug in the Super Bowl Doritos commercial.
BOW WOWS & MEOWS creator, Bruce Robinson said, "Pugs are one of my favorite dog breeds and I was happy to see one of them get their rightly deserved international attention...especially when she ( "Oko Nono" the pug) loves Doritos as her favorite snack, just like I do!"
Robinson said, "I thought the cartoons would be a fun way to let people know about how cool pugs are and how they are known in real life for their funny antics. Combine their real life fun personality with the cartoon format and you have a recipe for pure comedy!"
BOW WOWS & MEOWS already features a pug by the name of Pugster who pops in the cartoons from time to time. Robinson said he is already at the drawing board working up sketches of the "Big Introduction" where Pugster meets Oko Nono. "I think I've come up with some real rib ticklers," Robinson said. Readers and viewers of BOW WOWS & MEOWS can expect to see the "Big Introduction" soon. Robinson said he is working hard on the final drawings to get the "Big Introduction" up on the BOW WOWS & MEOWS website (http://www.BowWowsAndMeows.net) by next Monday, which is Valentines Day.
BOW WOWS & MEOWS debuted on the internet last November and it is already a hit with audiences world wide. The comic feature is already a regular on the Go Comics Network (http://www.gocomics.com/bows-wows-meows) and is featured in a select number of weekly newspapers and greeting cards (although Robinson admits he would like to have a full line of BOW WOWS & MEOWS greeting cards some day). There is also a treasure trove of BOW WOWS & MEOWS merchandise that's in demand ( including T-Shirts, mugs, stickers, magnets, original art, books, e-Books, etc. ) and the items can be found on the feature's website (http://www.bowwowsandmeows.net/id11.html ). Robinson said he would love to have his feature in daily newspapers as well and noted that he is welcoming any and all offers from the national comic syndicates to sign up BOW WOWS & MEOWS for distribution. He noted, "After all, I'm a cartoonist (and have been since I was 12 years old, when I had one of my cartoons nationally syndicated for one day as the result of winning a cartoon contest), and not a marketing executive and I would love to have a syndicate take care of the marketing and distribution of my feature so I can concentrate on what I do best...drawing funny cartoons!"
Bruce Robinson is an award winning, internationally published cartoonist whose work has appeared for the past 40 years in many 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' books and numerous consumer and trade magazines and newspapers; including the National Enquirer, The Saturday Evening Post, Highlights for Children, The Sun, Woman's World, FIRST for Women, Dogs for Kids and many others.
