The Southern Medical Association lauds Walmart’s initiatives to offer more nutritious dietary options at more affordable prices.

In order to make a difference, it is imperative for individuals to have these options available to them at a local level, for it is these types of opportunities that will lead them to become more informed and empowered when making dietary choices

The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is pleased to learn of Walmart’s initiative of making food more nutritious and offering healthier dietary options at more affordable prices and formally commends the company for taking crucial steps in improving the health and welfare of consumers nationwide.

“In order to make a difference, it is imperative for individuals to have these options available to them at a local level, for it is these types of opportunities that will lead them to become more informed and empowered when making dietary choices,” commented SMA Chief Executive Officer Edward J. Waldron. “Walmart is to be lauded for taking the steps necessary to bring about a positive change in America’s food industry, and individuals across the United States will reap the benefits of healthier lifestyles as a result.”
