Company Re-launches Monthly Recognition Program by Featuring Restaurants from Coast to Coast and the Inspiration that Drives Them

Restaurant.com today announced it has re-launched an updated version of its popular "Restaurant of the Month" program. Now titled "Behind the Menu," Restaurant.com will examine a culinary theme every month and feature multiple Restaurant.com restaurant partners from across the country that all find inspiration in that selected theme. For February, Restaurant.com is spotlighting "romance" and taking site visitors on a tour of restaurants that offer romantic dishes and settings. Through a dedicated "Behind the Menu" webpage (http://www.Restaurant.com/Romance), visitors can learn more about the featured restaurants and how romance has inspired these establishments.

Restaurant.com first launched its restaurant recognition program in March 2010, featuring a single restaurant partner every month through a dedicated webpage, as part of the company's year-long 10th anniversary celebration. After receiving positive feedback on the program from diners and restaurants alike, Restaurant.com revised the program for 2011 with the goal to celebrate and spotlight multiple restaurants at one time.

Now officially titled "Behind the Menu," the updated program will focus every month on a theme that defines and inspires restaurants across the country and then will spotlight Restaurant.com restaurants that bring the theme to life. The monthly "Behind the Menu" theme is selected based on cultural relevance and seasonality, and the restaurants are chosen on how they relate to the theme based on criteria including the restaurant's popularity with diners, high standards for service, unique cuisine, memorable ambiance and more.

In honor of Valentine's Day, Restaurant.com is recognizing "romance" for the month of February and has featured seven of its restaurant partners that offer romantic surroundings and flavors. This month's featured restaurants include: Papacelle Ristorante in Avon, Conn., Meridian Restaurant in Winston-Salem, N.C., Chez Vincent in Winter Park, Fla., Da Edoardo Ristorante in Grand Blanc, Mich., Monarch at the Hotel ZaZa Houston, Texas, Girardi's Osteria Italiana in Edmonds, Wash., and Annabelle's at Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa, Ariz.

As part of the "Behind the Menu" recognition, all the selected restaurants will be featured on a dedicated "Behind the Menu" webpage (http://www.Restaurant.com/Romance), which will also be featured on the Restaurant.com homepage. The webpage features information about the selected theme and offers details on each chosen restaurant. The page also includes a zip code search box on the page so site visitors can search for restaurants in their area and find those with similar romantic settings and cuisines.
