Many hospitals have at least ten years of data on their HIS, including an average of 95 percent of accounts with zero balance and 75 percent that are approximately seven years old. Processing of that data includes cumbersome daily, weekly and monthly backups along with night-time processing of all the data. LegacyPEP helps hospitals unburden their current HIS by reducing backup and processing time while avoiding the potential need for a hardware upgrade. The solution also removes inactive accounts from the platform and moves them to a secure environment for access as needed.

“In addition to allowing hospitals to avoid dependence on the release level of the application they use, LegacyPEP offers those implementing a new system with a progressive retirement program for their data," explained Shelly Peters, CEO of Legacy Data Access. “The entire application can be retired following a brief accounts receivable work down period after the go-live."

LegacyPEP is part of LegacySuite, the company’s comprehensive solution set of data storage, real-time Web access, receivables management and reporting capabilities for retired healthcare applications. LegacySuite allows hospitals and other healthcare organizations to retrieve data through a secure and encrypted system and view records online, downloaded to a PC or printed via an Internet browser. By maintaining and managing a hospital's data, the information continues to work for the facility with immediate savings and benefits and no loss of detail or integrity.
