British Airways has revealed its top holiday destinations for travellers wishing to head overseas during the Easter break and the extra Bank Holiday prompted by the Royal Wedding.
Favourite locations for travellers include hotspots in destinations such as North America, the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Europe. With the introduction of new flights, holidays in Marrakech (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/holidays-in-marrakech/public/en_gb ) and increased frequencies of flights to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua and Tampa launching at the end of March 2011, customers now have increased choices when it comes to leisure destinations.
Claire Bentley, managing director of British Airways Holidays, said: "At the same time many overseas visitors are flying with British Airways into London to see the spectacular Royal wedding, we're also seeing a heavy demand for overseas holidays from our UK customers thanks to the extra Bank Holiday on April 29.
"Since we introduced dynamic packaging on ba.com in 2008 we have seen a huge increase in sales from customers using the new feature on ba.com to find special deals at competitive prices that combine flights and hotels or flights and car hire to arrange that perfect holiday, also giving customers an increased peace of mind due to the ATOL protection we offer on all package holidays."
She added: "Thanks to a range of new leisure destinations, including Marrakech, and even more flights to the always popular Caribbean, customers are sure to find that British Airways can help them celebrate the Royal wedding in style wherever we fly them."
Other top worldwide destinations booked in April include Cancun, New York, Las Vegas, the Maldives, Venice, Dubrovnik and Jersey.
The Caribbean is proving a hit with families and increasing the number of flights to a variety of destinations is providing customers with increased choices for their holidays in Barbados (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/holidays-in-barbados/public/en_gb ) and St Lucia. British Airways offers a wide choice of three to five-star hotels in the Caribbean. Florida holidays have also become more popular with the now weekly flight to Tampa. The Maldives are proving a further popular choice for luxury holidays with the airlines' customers when it comes to their April getaway.
Since it was launched as a destination in November 2010 Cancun has proved so popular that flights are increasing from two a week to three this summer.
New York and Las Vegas remain favourite American cities with travellers, for city breaks as well as fly-drive holidays, thanks in part to the new joint business with American Airlines and Iberia giving customers a choice of 17 flights a day between London and New York. In June, the airline is also adding First class cabins to its daily flights to Las Vegas (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/flights-to-las-vegas/public/en_gb ).
European cities are also proving a top choice with city breaks to Venice, Dubrovnik and long weekend breaks in Jersey being in demand.
The new Marrakech route starting in March is already seeing demand for seats and holiday packages to hotels such as four-star Riad Karmela or the award-winning five-star Palmeraie.
Other top end hotel openings planned soon are the Mandarin Oriental, Jnan Rahma and Baglioni Marrakech. British Airways offers great hotel choices in all major European cities, ranging from budget 2-star to luxury 5-star accommodation.
