117 Acres of Gibson County Indiana farmland sells at auction for $11,325 per acre

On Wednesday February 9, 2011, Sohn & Associates, Ltd. sold 117 acres of Gibson County Indiana farmland for $1,325,000 or $11,325 per acre.

The cold weather and hazardous road conditions did not stop the Haubstadt Community Park Building from filling to capacity. The standing room only crowd watched the bidding quickly go over the one million dollar mark. At this point there were still six active bidders with some competitive bidding on smaller tract combinations, but the farm ended up being purchased by a single bidder.

"This shows again that an auction is the best way to sell land in most market conditions, especially a strong market like we have now," said Don Sohn, President of Sohn & Associates, Ltd.
