The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has elected René Boskoff and Terri Haack as the newest incoming members for its board of directors. Boskoff, as General Manager of the Marriott Monterey Hotel will represent full service properties, and Haack, as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, will represent resort properties on the AH&LA board of directors.
Boskoff joined Marriott International in 1975 and has served as the General Manager for the Monterey Marriott for the past 11 years. In addition to his local involvement in all aspects of the Monterey hospitality industry, Boskoff was the 2010 chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) and has also recently been named to the AH&LA Governmental Affairs Committee.
Haack has served as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California since 2007. She has also concurrently served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Destination Resorts & Hotels and Lowe Enterprises since 2002. Haack is a long-time participant in AH&LA activities and has been instrumental in launching the California Chapter of Women In Lodging (WIL Connect), speaking at the most recent chapter meeting at the America’s Lodging Investment Summit in San Diego.
“On behalf of the California lodging industry, we congratulate both Terri and René, who will undoubtedly represent the interests of the industry well,” said Lynn Mohrfeld, President and CEO of CH&LA. “AH&LA couldn’t ask for two better qualified and committed individuals to represent the industry as directors.”
Both Boskoff and Haack will serve three-year terms on the AH&LA board of directors, attending their first meeting as directors in Atlanta this June in conjunction with the AH&LA Summer Summit.
