Octagon, the worldwide leader in sports and entertainment marketing, announced today that it has joined in partnership with Proximus Mobility to enhance spectators’ experience at the upcoming ACE Group Classic in Naples, FL. The ACE Group Classic will utilize Proximus Mobility’s location-based proximity marketing solution to provide tournament attendees with rich content and sponsored offers to their mobile phones and tablets. The ACE Group Classic is an official event on the Champions Tour and will take place February 14 – 20 at The Quarry.

“Octagon is always looking to innovate and bring additional value to our sponsors and attendees,” said Tournament Director Kevin Rooney. “Being able to communicate with and provide valuable content and offers to attendees’ mobile phones is a great way for our sponsors to build brand awareness and drive measureable results. Based on our market evaluation, we feel that the Proximus solution is the best fit to reach any phone type.”

The Proximus devices will be placed strategically around the high traffic areas and will enable attendees to receive special promotions, updates and coupons on their mobile devices through Bluetooth and WiFi. The Proximus proximity marketing platform is a turnkey solution that allows businesses to connect with customers and consumers near a point of influence or point of purchase and complete the value chain.

“The Proximus solution is a great way for event sponsors to connect with consumers, while gathered around a specific area, to help drive sales or awareness for their product or service,” said Michael Zeto, Proximus CEO. “Being a leader in the emerging location-based and proximity marketing space, it made sense that we work with industry leaders Octagon and The ACE Group Classic to deliver an interactive experience and provide additional sponsor value to tournament attendees.”

Tournament patrons will be instructed on how to participate in the Proximus experience through signs and tutorials around the course. The non-invasive program allows fans to take part in the campaign without risk of disturbing tournament play.
