Dr. Bruno's passion for education will enhance an already dynamic English as a Second Language program.
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 14, 2011
Premier insurance process outsourcing provider ReSource Pro is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Linda J. Bruno, Ph.D., as Manager of Learning and Development at its Qingdao offices.
Dr. Bruno brings with her a long career in academics with a focus on English literacy: after earning her doctorate in education from New York University, she spent more than three decades in the field working as a middle school principal, a superintendent of schools in Southampton, New York, an adjunct professor at NYU and Long Island University and, in recent years, an independent consultant to New York State schools looking to improve English literacy rates and test scores.
ReSource Pro prides itself on its employees’ excellent English skills and their familiarity with the American insurance industry; Dr. Bruno’s credentials and her passion for education will further enhance an already dynamic English as a Second Language program. Bruno visited ReSource Pro’s processing facilities in Qingdao, China on a fact-finding mission in October 2010, and she is quick to note her positive impressions of the company’s staff, a group of professionals more than 850 strong who are eager to master advanced English and “more than ready to spend hours after work to improve their own skills.”
English competency is closely tied to career advancement within the ReSource Pro organization: all new hires must first pass an intermediate examination, and they must surpass given scores on spoken and written English evaluations in order to ascend the professional ladder. Bruno looks to strengthen these practices by creating an e-learning study facility, using materials from testing companies like The College Board to institute more comprehensive performance standards, and engaging team members in practical day-to-day exercises like watching China’s English-language news stations and discussing the day’s events in English or reviewing Amy Chua’s hit memoir “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother.”
CEO Dan Epstein says, “Dr. Bruno is both a longtime member of the ReSource Pro family and a perfect addition to our full-time staff. We have always held all our employees to very strict standards for written and spoken English. By adding Dr. Linda Bruno to our team, we can create an even more accomplished team of specialists whose advanced communication skills will ensure their ability to take care of our clients’ individual needs as they arise.”
