SchoolMessenger, a leading provider of parent notification solutions for education, and Education Week, American education's newspaper of record, today announced the two organizations will partner to host a free webinar on March 2 entitled, "A District Road Map: Finding Your Path in Social Media."
The webinar, which takes place at 2 p.m. Eastern time, will explore how social media tools can help school districts get their message out to the communities they serve and promote school and district successes. The following speakers will lead the discussion:
- Nora Carr, chief of staff for the 71,000-student Guilford County Schools in Greensboro, N.C. and a specialist on how to use technology to enhance school communications;
- Eric Sheninger, principal of New Milford High School in New Milford, N.J. and an expert on social networking, particularly the use of Facebook and Twitter in schools.
"SchoolMessenger is proud to partner with Education Week to support this important and timely event," said Nate Brogan, vice president of marketing at SchoolMessenger. "This webinar will help district leaders address the challenges and opportunities social media presents and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to better promote their district."
Attendees will learn how to use social media tools, including Facebook and Twitter, to get their message out to a wide audience, enhance professional development and promote their successes. It will also provide guidance to those who may be reluctant to use social media tools or feel district technology policies may stand in their way.
During this webinar SchoolMessenger will release findings from its comprehensive survey of parents and school leaders concerning attitudes about and adoption of social media for school district communications.
