Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) February 14, 2011
Enterprise cloud communications service provider Thinking Phone Networks today hosted a business roundtable, “Access to Working Capital,” that featured Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki and CEOs from four Massachusetts-based companies. Also participating on a panel moderated by Anthony Silva of WBZ Radio were Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation Interim President Chuck Grimsby and Small Business Association of New England President Bob Baker.
“Access to working capital is an important ingredient in not only helping to start companies but also in spurring their continued growth,” said Steve Kokinos, Thinking Phone Networks CEO and a roundtable panelist. “Both public as well as private sources are important in the working capital mix. We applaud Secretary Bialecki’s participation, as well as that of the MGCC and SBANE, in today’s roundtable that allows CEOs from several high growth Massachusetts companies to discuss their experience raising working capital for their businesses.”
“The Patrick-Murray Administration recognizes that accessing capital is a critical issue for small businesses and has taken a number of steps to address the challenges, including creating the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation,” said Greg Bialecki, Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development. “We consider the MGCC the state’s ‘one-stop shop’ for debt and equity financing assistance for small and mid-size businesses that are poised for growth and for job creation.”
In addition to Bialecki, Grimsby, Baker, and Kokinos, the “Access to Working Capital” panel included:
- Tony Prigmore, Managing Partner of Enterprise Strategy Group, an analyst, research and strategy firm focused on information technology’s most important challenges and technology segments.
- Brad Harkavy, CEO of BPG Motors, the developer of the Uno, a unique stylish self-balancing electric motorcycle.
- Robert Harris, Chef/Owner of Season to Taste Catering, which specializes in using farm-to-table products that are responsibly sourced with an eye to seasonality, quality and minimizing environmental impact.
