"Trudi Wood. To Many, a Superior Woman. To Others, a Bitch." Novelist Joan White uses her experience in the travel business to reveal the heroine’s imperfections and her exciting adventures in this novel of awesome details and romantic interludes of unexpected intensity.
Romantic adventure is at its best with travel agent Trudi Wood making one naive personal mistake after the other while escorting her tour group through Croatia, then being rescued by Trent Nelson’s unexpected appearances.
She, and her group, arrive on site, enjoy a motor coach tour and the driver dates Trudi for a local dinner. It’s a dreadful event and afterward he attempts an attack, only to be subdued by her skill at self-defense.
Nelson arrives, comforts Trudi and initiates a personal relationship of great joy. Which is destroyed when she accidentally sees him embrace another woman only a few minutes after kissing her goodbye.
Adding destruction to disaster, a few days later the revenge-seeking coach driver makes a sudden unnecessary emergency stop and slams her against the vehicles windshield. Now its to the hospital for Trudi with Nelson showing up to make her discharge a questionable pleasure,
Again romance blooms and later she takes the train to Beograd to be with Nelson in Serbia’s capital city. Unfortunately a criminal taxi driver, learning that she is alone, drives into a slum area and is paid for leaving her with drunken lechers. Action becomes intense as Trudi manages to fight her way out of their hands, regain the street and eventually find police protection. In headquarters of Serbia’s national police she finally learns who Trent Nelson really is, accepts his marriage proposal and heads back to California and a brilliant future.
Author Joan White speaks well of the many exciting event locations and carries both romance and adventure forward at lightning speed. There’s little boredom in this romantic adventure in a world seldom seen.
