"Aldric and Anneliese", the sixth book by Louisiana author and award-winning poet Harry E. Gilleland, Jr., has now been published by the Edmond, Oklahoma traditional small publisher 4RV Publishing LLC. The novel, which is of the action/adventure/love story genre, uses the backdrop of the region of what is present day Eastern Europe in the late sixth century to tell a story of nation building, kings, knights, fair ladies, bloody battles, honor and triumph, royal treachery and tragedy, revenge and redemption, and great loves. This story for the ages will enthrall readers from ages teenage to ninety.
Aldric, the main character of "Aldric & Anneliese", was raised like a brother with King Edmund and now serves Edmund as his champion and protector. Together they wage wars to meld six regions of related tribesmen, each region ruled by its tribal chieftain, into one united nation under Edmund's reign as king. Aldric experiences triumphs, followed then by tragedy and loss that cause him to lose his moral and spiritual bearings. Anneliese brings love and redemption to Aldric's life, followed by surprising and stirring plot twists that will keep readers turning the pages to reach the fulfilling conclusion of the book's story.

Author Bio: Harry E. Gilleland, Jr. is a southerner by birth and by inclination. Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, he now resides in Shreveport, Louisiana with his beloved wife, Linda. Harry retired in 2004 from a career as a Professor of Microbiology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and now devotes himself full-time to his writing. A writer of both poetry and prose, Harry has now published his sixth book.
