Olivia St. Clair Hart has joined the Chicago law firm of Novack and Macey LLP as an associate. She will concentrate her practice in commercial litigation. Novack and Macey is a Chicago-based firm that specializes in high-stakes business and commercial litigation. The firm represents clients in a wide variety of disputes, involving general trial and appellate practice in state and federal courts, arbitration and mediation.
Ms. Hart is a 2009 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School where she was co-director of the Hinton Moot Court program, a Hinton Moot Court semi-finalist, director of Scales of Justice (an a cappella group), and a performer in the law school’s annual musical. She holds a B.A. in Classics from the University of Texas. Austin. Ms. Hart has been admitted to the bar in Illinois and in California.
Before joining Novack and Macey, Ms. Hart completed a year-long public interest assignment at the nonprofit organization Women Employed, where she advocated for state and federal policy changes to benefit low-income workers and community college investment. Her article “Building Backwards: Helping Heal Iraq through Women’s Rights” is due to be published this spring in the Texas Journal of Women and the Law.
Ms. Hart came to Chicago for law school after growing up in Southern California. She now resides in Chicago where her volunteer activities include working with the Center on Halsted and serving on Women Employed’s Advocacy Council.
