Artspan (http://www.artspan.com) today announced that it would give its artist members a greater voice on the Internet with the launch of individual member blogs. The functionality is integrated directly into each artist’s web site and is available to every Artspan member. Artspan is supporting the new functionality by providing articles and professional tips for maximizing the marketing potential of their blogs.

“Used properly, blogs can not only reach readers and collectors directly, but can spread virally through social media, dramatically increasing the reach of an artist’s voice,” said Eric Sparre, Founder and CEO of Artspan.

The functionality is integrated directly into each artist’s web site and is available to every Artspan member. “We are committed to providing our members with the best possible tools to promote their careers,” said Eric Sparre, Founder and CEO of Artspan. “Used properly, blogs can not only reach readers and collectors directly, but can spread virally through social media, dramatically increasing the reach of an artist’s voice.”

The blogs are designed for ease-of-use by Artists new to the medium but include a deep feature-set for more tech savvy users. Artspan members will be able to pre-set dates for posts to appear, receive reader comments, and create categories for posts. Additionally, the blog system will inform Google when new posts are made.

The blogs will not only serve as marketing devices for artists, they will act as an important medium for Artspan members to share information, experiences, guidance and news with other artists.

Launching the suite of tools is part of Artspan’s year of growth, during which the company is introducing a series of new features and initiatives. The growth surge began with a new website design and increased functionality in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Artspan’s continuing mission is to gather the highest quality artists and make their work easily available to the public. Artspan is currently home to more than 3,700 artists, artisans and photographers and has been the leading provider of premium individual artist websites since 1999.

ABOUT ARTSPAN
Founded in 1999 by painter and entrepreneur Eric Sparre, Artspan.com is a major contemporary art destination, featuring over 3,700 artist and artisan websites in many different categories, including painters, photographers, jewelers and sculptors. Artspan members include artists from around the country and the world. Artspan.com is consistently ranked in the top two results for the term ‘Contemporary Art’ by Google and Yahoo. Artspan member websites can be managed by anyone – no technical background needed - and have a variety of features, all at a very competitive price. These features include ecommerce features for each individual site, notably a prints-on-demand feature allowing buyers to size, mat and frame prints to suit – the completed package is then shipped to the buyer. The websites benefit from traffic resulting from visitor use of the artspan.com searches and directories, which supplements the traffic that goes directly to the individual websites (using the website domain names). Members can also access a wealth of marketing information and, in an age of limited or non-existent customer service, the Artspan Help Desk can be reached by phone or email.
