Microsoft Alumni Network Celebrates 15 Years

Connect with colleagues and the Microsoft Store: First time members join free for a limited time.

We’re dedicated to making the community more beneficial by increasing membership, so we’re offering free membership to new members for the rest of our fiscal year.

Employees often want to stay connected with their former coworkers and companies once they depart for new opportunities. Fifteen years ago, Tony Audino, former Microsoft executive and CEO of Conenza, realized this and founded the Microsoft Alumni Network (MSA). With more than 18,000 members and growing daily, MSA enables alumni to keep in touch and receive a variety of benefits. To celebrate 15 years of success, new members can join free until May 31, 2011. All former blue-badge Microsoft employees who are first-time MSA members are eligible to register for this special anniversary offer.

“When I left Microsoft after almost 20 years of service, I wanted to stay connected to my former friends and colleagues, and to Microsoft. The Microsoft Alumni Network provides an easy way for me to do this,” said Gwen Weld, former Microsoft employee. “I really appreciate the benefits and discounts that I have access to as a member of the community, and after five years I still feel like I am part of the Microsoft family.”

The MSA online community is powered by the Conenza Community Platform, http://www.conenza.com and offers a rich social site where members can connect, view Microsoft job opportunities and access offers from a variety of businesses.

MSA member benefits include:

  •     Microsoft Company Store - $600 spending limit
  •     Discounts on Microsoft Certification and e-learning tools
  •     Opportunity Center – find or post new jobs or other opportunities
  •     Alumni Marketplace – exclusive discounts from MSA’s partners and member businesses
  •     Insurance plans and other financial offerings

“MSA has helped Microsoft alums stay in touch for 15 years,” said Jennie Ellis, Executive Director and Community Evangelist for Microsoft Alumni Network. “We’re dedicated to making the community more beneficial by increasing membership, so we’re offering free membership to new members for the rest of our fiscal year.”

New members who sign up before May 31, 2011, will get the rest of this member year free (Note: member year runs from July 1 through June 30). To join today, visit: http://www.microsoftalumni.com. Enter MSAlumni2011 in the Promo Code box. Microsoft Corporation must verify all new members before MSA community activation.

About MSA
Founded in 1995 to help support former Microsoft employees as they move on to pursue new opportunities, the Microsoft Alumni Network (MSA) is a nonprofit and the official membership organization for Microsoft alumni worldwide. Today, MSA helps over 18,000 Microsoft alumni stay connected and benefit from valuable connections, career opportunities, and exclusive discounts on products and services. In 2006, MSA created the Microsoft Alumni Foundation (MSAF), a new 501(c)(3) organization. The Microsoft Alumni Foundation utilizes the talents, skills, energies, and resources of the 85,000 Microsoft alumni to make a profound and lasting difference around the world. Although MSA and MSAF are separate legal entities, they work together collaboratively to support and engage Microsoft alumni. Please note you do not have to be a member of the Microsoft Alumni Network to join the Microsoft Alumni Foundation (or vice versa).
