The Acu-Loc® 2 Volar Distal Radius Plating System, developed in conjunction with our accomplished surgeon design team, is the next generation in plating fixation. The system presents two plate families giving surgeons the ability to choose between distally or proximally fitting plates with an optimized plate design allowing for ideal support of the radial and intermediate distal radius columns. The system includes advanced instrumentation to help with plate placement and fracture reduction in addition to a revolutionary two-piece compression screw designed to reduce difficult dorsal fragments.
The New Elbow Plating System designed with Shawn W. O’Driscoll, M.D. Ph.D., advances the original elbow plating system released in 2001. The new system is comprised of precontoured, indication specific plates to address fractures of the distal humerus, olecranon and coronoid. The system features an innovative low-profile olecranon plate design with increased anatomic features, superior instrumentation, and the Hexalobe Screw System with variable angle Tap-Loc® Technology. The Hexalobe Screw System offers maximized screw strength and a Hexalobe drive interface to optimize performance in dense bone.
The Acu-Loc® 2 Volar Distal Radius Plating System and the new Elbow Plating System, will be showcased at the Acumed booth (#5200), in Hall H. Lectures by designing surgeons: William B, Geissler, M.D., Shawn W. O’Driscoll, M.D. Ph.D., and David Ruch, M.D. will be presented at 10:00am, 12:15pm and 3:30pm each day of the exhibition.
The Acumed booth will also offer a state of art iPad® learning platform, allowing surgeons to review the Acu-Loc® 2 Volar Distal Radius Plating System and new Elbow Plating System in an interactive digital format. Attendees will be able to apply the information and techniques gained from the iPads and lectures in a mock surgery environment with implant grade products and realistic sawbone models.
On Thursday, February 17th, Acumed will be hosting a new product demonstration at the Omni Hotel San Diego from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The new product demonstration will provide attending surgeons an opportunity to listen to lectures by design surgeons William B. Geissler, M.D. and Shawn W. O’Driscoll, M.D. Ph.D. All Acumed product lines will be displayed during the event to provide attendees one-on-one time with the consulting surgeons and Acumed design team.
