A local O.C. musical talent blazes onto the scene this month. Hidden for much too long, independent singer-songwriter Giana Nguyen will finally be given the spotlight she deserves. She will release her debut solo album, "For Now," on February 22, 2011. Giana's original six-song E.P. is produced by Barrett Slagle of ArtiSans Label Studios in Fullerton, CA. The piano-driven tunes are polished and radio-friendly pop/rock, featuring powerful yet angelic vocals.

She will perform her original songs on Saturday, February 26th at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Theatre (1140 N. Tustin Avenue, Orange, CA 92867). Pre-sale tickets for the concert will be sold exclusively at giananguyen.com for $10, and $12 at the door. Giana's show will feature a number of established, local all-star musicians including Tony T. Nguyen (piano & acoustic guitar), Chris Garcia (drums), Craig Garcia (bass), David Anthony (lead guitar), and Molly Gutman (back-up vocals).

While relatively new to the indie music scene, colleagues in the music industry and local arts community are already singing her praise:

"Giana--her voice and her music--is like a new friend that feels like an old friend. Once discovered, your reaction is, 'where has this been all my life?'"
Michael Filson
President, ArtiSans Label

"From a CHOC employee years ago to being the "leading lady" in our previous CHOC Follies musical...no one could have sung it better than our extremely gifted Giana! We count our blessings that she will be gracing our stage again...When you hear her sing, you will see what I mean!"
Gloria Zigner
Creator and Producer, CHOC Follies (1997-present)

Event sponsors include ArtiSans Label, Channel APA, King Graphic Design, Molly's Music, and the Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association.
