Elégance Hands Cheque for 48,780€ to Breast Health International

The money donated will help Breast Health International; a non-profit foundation whose mission is to give all people affected by breast cancer the tools necessary to have the best quality of life, regardless of background or financial circumstances.

On Tuesday, 8th February, Elégance donated a cheque for 48,780 euros to Breast Health International; a non-profit foundation whose mission is to give all people affected by breast cancer the tools necessary to have the best quality of life, regardless of background or financial circumstances.

Following on from the campaign launched in October 2010, to support women affected by breast cancer, Elégance the ready-to-wear label, has raised 48,780 euros for Breast Health International.

The Elégance brand created a limited edition T-shirt in three colours (fuchsia pink, black and white), decorated with the pink ribbon, the international symbol of breast cancer, in Swarovski crystals, as well as a matching silk scarf.

3,955 T-shirts and 923 silk scarves have been sold worldwide, totalling 4,878 articles.

10 € per item were donated towards BHI’s Fund For Living program, a total amount of 48,780 euros was reached – an amount five times more than they had anticipated.

Laurent Lingelser, Marketing and Communications Director of the Elégance label handed a cheque of 48,780 euros over to Susan L Schwartz, President of Breast Health International, on Tuesday, 8th February 2011 at 7 pm, in the prestigious Parisian Elégance boutique situated at 10, rue de la Paix. This amount will enable the Fund For Living program to expand even further throughout Europe.

“I have to thank everyone at Elégance for their commitment to the women of Europe. The funds raised will make such an impact and help so many people. It will be a pleasure to work with them next year.” declared Susan L. Schwartz after receiving the cheque.

Given the success of this initiative, Elégance wishes to repeat it in 2011. Therefore, Elégance will launch two limited edition articles – a scarf and a long-sleeved T-shirt – in October 2011, worldwide breast cancer awareness month.

Other labels have supported and continue support Breast Health International and its Fund For Living campaign. In 2005, the Versace couture house was an important sponsor of the association. Donatella Versace also was the face of the advertising campaign that year. Since 2006, the Tommy Hilfiger brand has launched a limited edition bag every year, in partnership with celebrities, for instance, Carla Bruni in 2007 and Milla Jovovich in 2010.
