IpVenture, Inc., a technology development and licensing company, announced today, that it has settled a patent infringement lawsuit between IpVenture and Sony.
IpVenture, Inc. owns U.S. Patent Nos. 5,752,011, 5,974,557, 6,216,235, 6,487,668, 7,167,993, 7,293,186, 7,418,611, and 7,506,190 (the “Thomas Power and Thermal Management Patent Portfolio”). In June of 2009, IpVenture, Inc. filed a patent infringement lawsuit (Case No. 09-497) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Sony Electronics Inc., Sony Corporation, Sony Corporation of America, Panasonic Corporation, and Panasonic Corporation of America.
IpVenture and Sony agreed to settle the lawsuit and the lawsuit has since been dismissed. As part of the settlement, Sony has taken a license to the Thomas Power and Thermal Management Patent Portfolio. Panasonic previously entered into a settlement and license agreement with IpVenture.
