Online T-Shirt printing firm Custom Your Shirt have got together with sister company Toctopus to announced a new service enabling clients to design and sell their own T-shirts online using a free website provided by the company.
Clients are given a free website that they customise with their own logo, colour and even use their own domain name for it. The site is free to set up, and clients can choose their own subdomain to go with the main domain name toctopus.com.
They then design their own T-shirt with a design and wording, choose a T-shirt blank and advertise their designs on their website. Any orders generated are diverted to the parent company that prints the garments, delivers them and accepts payment. Store owners can add any mark-up to the blank price they want, and are paid that mark-up for their sales.
This appears to be an excellent opportunity for people who believe they can come up with better designs than those they see in their local shops. The home business seems to be very easy to set up, with no cost to them whatsoever, and not even a domain name is needed since the stores work off subdomains chosen by the site owners themselves.
Managing Director Benoit Larauza stated that:
"We got the idea from our customers at both Custom Your Shirt and Toctopus where they can have their own designs printed on T-shirts and other garments and promotional goods. Many were so impressed at the quality of the garments we had printed with their own designs that were asking if they were able to sell them.
So we decided that it would benefit both them and us if we offered them a free website they could customize with their own logo and colour, and sell their designs from there. We still print the garments, and deliver them, but the clients are now able to make money by selling their own unique designs from websites unique to them."
This seems an excellent idea, and is a great way for good artists and designers to make some money for themselves without first having to make a financial outlay. It is an opportunity for ordinary people with good graphical skills to set up a part-time home business that could become full-time, and appears to be a win-win situation all round. There is no money to lose and people can make as much or as little profit as they want from their sales.
They can even use the websites to offer friends and relatives their choice of garments as a gift for birthdays and other occasions. There are no strings, and no minimum or maximum order levels. An excellent way to make extra money!
