By partnering with CheckPoints, we’re able to tap into the tens of millions of users that own smartphones, and 600,000 registered users of the CheckPoints app,” said Anne Parducci, Lionsgate Executive Vice President of Marketing and Family Entertainment. “We know this technology increases the likelihood of purchase and we’re also excited by the sheer power of the experience and the brand engagement it creates.”
The CheckPoints app is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Android Market, and offers shoppers rewards just for visiting virtually any store in America and discovering products there. Shoppers can unlock exclusive content like games and recipes each time they scan the UPC of a featured item – no purchase necessary.
“CheckPoints and Lionsgate are teaming up to reward customers for something they already do: shop. With our coupons and prizes, and Lionsgate’s exciting content, we’re now able to offer shoppers an exciting, entertaining, and rewarding new experience, all at once in a place where they don’t usually expect it,” said CheckPoints CEO Mark DiPaola. “We’re excited to partner with Lionsgate as our first entertainment product line in the mobile application. With over 13,000 titles in their library there’s something for every type of consumer, and their ability to be a trailblazer in this category is exciting for us all.”
