MorganFranklin Corporation, a business and technology consulting firm that delivers financial management, performance improvement, and national security solutions to government and industry clients, announced the recent appointment of Hanif Lalani, OBE, to the company’s international advisory board.

Lalani joined BT Group plc in 1983 and served in a variety of roles during his 28-year tenure with the global telecommunications giant. Most recently, he served as CEO of BT Global Services. Over the course of his career, Lalani also served as group finance director of BT Group plc, chief finance officer of BT Wholesale, finance director and CEO of BT Northern Ireland, chairman of BT subsidiary OCEAN Communications, finance director of BT Shops, and financial controller of the BT Personal Communications Division.
Lalani currently serves as non-executive director and audit committee chairman at Easynet and ambassador at Invest Northern Ireland, where he promotes inward investment from India. He also acts as senior deal advisor to a variety of private equity companies and has contributed portfolio investments in a number of startups in India (IT services), China (mobile advertising), Ghana (logistics), and the United Kingdom (mobile service provider).
Lalani holds a Bachelor of Arts honors degree in mathematics, operations research, and economics from the University of Essex. In recognition of his achievements in management in the telecommunications industry, he was awarded honorary doctorate degrees in business administration from the University of Essex in 2010 and the University of Bedfordshire in 2009. In 2007, Lalani was named Finance Director of the Year by the Confederation of British Industry. He was also named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to business in Northern Ireland in 2003, and he earned the title of Fellow Chartered Management Accountant in 1990.
