New assortment crowd-sourced through Minted's indie design community

More and more, couples today want a wedding invitation that speaks to their unique style

Minted (, the online store powered by a global design community, has announced the launch today of 175 highly unique wedding invitation suites--which will almost double their current assortment.

All of the designs were sourced from independent artists the world over through The Happily Ever After Wedding Challenge with last fall. Over 1,476 entries were submitted by designers from all over the world and 175 were selected by community vote to be part of this exclusive offering.

Brides today are looking for invitations that are years away from the boring and stuffy invites of their parents generation. While a good many of the collection's designs are fresh takes on classic and elegant designs, others are evidence of a growing trend towards specific wedding motifs, such as origami cranes, rocking chairs, or report cards for example. Minted's 2011 Spring Collection's themes includes everything from a wedding circle quilt to an entwined monogram necklace, from a movie marquis venue to a Vespa getaway car. Showcasing handwriting-centric invitations, the collection also shines in the typography department. Additionally, there is great emphasis on setting with seasonal depictions, like vineyards, fall leaves, and pinecones.

"More and more, couples today want a wedding invitation that speaks to their unique style," says CEO and founder Mariam Naficy. "Our designs, which are unlike anything you'll see elsewhere, coupled with our customization options, make it very easy for couples to accomplish just that."

All of the new designs will be offered as Minted's signature, fully-coordinated wedding suites, which include stunning embellishments and innovative formats, currently only available in extremely high-end wedding invitation lines. These unexpected details enable a high degree of coordination and personalization:

  •     Invitation Backers: This visually stunning option adds a solid color or pattern to the back of a wedding invitation for a coordinated and luxurious look.
  •     Slip-In Envelope Liners: These matte, custom-cut envelope liners add uniqueness to any envelope and require just a bit of adhesive to fit into place.
