MaineToday Media, publisher of The Kennebec Journal, Morning Sentinel and The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram – Maine’s leading newspaper, today announced that it is expanding its local search Internet initiatives through an agreement with ImmersiFind, Inc.

“We are adding a new local search application to our family of websites so that our readers and subscribers can have easy access to local shopping information online,” said Richard L. Connor, publisher and CEO of MaineToday Media. “We decided to offer our customers the best of local search by featuring an Internet directory of merchants and service providers that is available through web, mobile and social media applications”, he added.

Visitors to http://www.thepressherald.com, onlinesentinel.com, kjonline.com and other MaineToday Media websites will have quick and easy access to area business listings directly from those sites. MTM business partners will have their websites, company profiles, location information and multimedia presentations optimized for major search engines. Consumers who register to participate will be able to make suggestions and recommendations about the businesses to their friends and family.

The new website will feature business and category searches with reverse lookup, providing easy access to information about dining, health & beauty, automotive, real estate and home improvement providers. “We are excited about expanding into the newspaper industry….,” said Thomas C.
