Seed money will be used to support Nebraska start-up companies

"One of our core beliefs is giving back to the community we work in, and we want to contribute to the future success of Nebraskans." - Marcus Tooze, CEO, GIS Workshop

As a show of faith for Nebraska business, GIS Workshop, a leader in spatial technology systems such as Internet mapping and custom geographical information systems (GIS) applications, donated $10,000 to the Invest Nebraska Corporation.

"We've enjoyed great success in our effort to serve those who need personalized GIS solutions, and we are pleased to be able to share our success with fellow entrepreneurs in Nebraska," said Marcus Tooze, CEO. "One of our core beliefs is giving back to the community we work in, and we want to contribute to the future success of Nebraskans."

Tooze says he believes it is important for successful Nebraska companies to share in the responsibility of supporting startup companies in the state, because it gives them a better chance to succeed.

According to Dan Hoffman, President Executive Director of Invest Nebraska, 100 percent of this donated money will be used as seed capital to help fund startup companies in Lincoln. Invest Nebraska targets businesses with revenues ranging from $0 to $1 million, with a special interest in companies that have the potential to increase revenues by 20% annually, export a majority of their product out of the state, and create high-paying employment opportunities in the state.
