We’ve been carrying out a brick cleaning and repointing scheme for Willow Park and witnessed the excellent work they carry out in the community. After spending so long working in the area it’s great to give something back.

Children from The Willows Primary School in Wythenshawe today attended the unveiling of a giant poster at the offices of Manchester and Cheshire Construction. The Manchester building contractor held a drawing competition at the school and the winners’ pictures have been blown up onto the billboard on the side of the company’s head office in Salford. The company invited all of the winning children to the unveiling ceremony along with Robbie Mannion, Head of Property Services, from Willow Park Housing Trust.
As one of the leading construction companies in the north west of England, Manchester & Cheshire Construction's social housing division has been working in the Wythenshawe area for over two years now as Managing Director David Lowe explains,
‘We’ve been carrying out a brick cleaning and repointing scheme for Willow Park and witnessed the excellent work they carry out in the community. We knew they’d be receptive to this idea and the school were also really keen. After spending so long working in the area it’s great to give something back.’
The company’s use of the billboard is one positive side of the recession as Mr. Lowe explains,
‘The advertising company that erected and rented the billboard arrived to dismantle it due to the recession but we managed to stop them and persuaded them to leave it up, even though at the time we didn’t really know what we could use it for. It’s great to see it bring pleasure to all these children today.’
The poster can be seen on Oldfield Road in Salford and will remain up until the summer.
