Ten James Scott Farrin Attorneys Win NC Advocates For Justice Awards

Ten attorneys from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin received Order of Service Awards from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) for their service to the organization between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.

Raleigh, North Carolina: Ten attorneys from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin received Order of Service Awards from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) for their service to the organization between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. Attorneys from the firm who received the award include:

Donald Bardes

Last year, Personal Injury Attorney Donald Bardes served as Co-Chair of a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar on disbursements. He was – and remains – a member of the Legislative Committee. This is his second Order of Service Award.

Adrienne Blocker

Litigation Attorney Adrienne Blocker is serving her fourth year as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Chair for the NCAJ Auto Torts Section. Last year, she chaired a CLE seminar and is scheduled to chair at least two more in the coming year.

Adrienne Blocker is a founding member and is on the Board of Directors of the Carolina Center for Civic Education (CCCE), which is partially funded by the NCAJ. She currently serves as Co-regional Coordinator for the CCCE Mock Trial Competition. She is also the editor and a chapter author for a personal injury manual to be published jointly by the NCAJ and Lexis. This is her fifth Order of Service Award.

J. Stewart Clontz

Personal Injury Attorney J. Stewart Clontz served as Editor-in-Chief of the NCAJ blog, Co-Chair of Communications for the NCAJ Auto Torts Section, Secretary of the Auto Torts Executive Committee and Co-Publisher/Editor of the Auto Torts Section’s newsletter. He continues his service in all of those capacities. This is his fourth Order of Service Award.

Rick Fleming

Rick Fleming, head of the firm’s Social Security Disability Department, is a shareholder at the firm and a NC Board Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability Law. He has been on the executive committee of the NCAJ Disability Advocacy Section (DAS) since 2004 and served as Co-Chair of multiple Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars during the past five years.

He currently is a member of the Board of Governors, Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section, and is a member of the Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division and the Workers’ Compensation Section. This is his third Order of Service Award.

Barry Jennings

Barry Jennings is an NC Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law and a shareholder at the firm. Last year, he served as a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section and participated in a regional meeting. He is currently a member of the NCAJ Workers’ Compensation Section. This is his Second Order of Service Award.

Michael Jordan

Personal Injury Attorney Michael Jordan, a shareholder at the firm, served on the NCAJ Board of Governors last year. He also served as the organization’s overall Publication’s Chair, the Publication’s Chair for the Executive Committee of the Auto Torts Section and as a member of the Ethics Committee. Jordan also updated a chapter in the NC Personal Injury Liens Manual. He continues his service in all of these capacities. This is his fourth Order of Service Award.

Jennifer Shapiro

Jennifer Shapiro is an NC Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. Last year, she served as a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section and participated in a regional meeting. She is currently a member of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation Section. This is her second Order of Service Award.

Gabe Talton

Gabe Talton is a litigation attorney in the firm’s Personal Injury Department. Last year, he served as chair of the Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division and was a member of the Board of Governors. He continues his service in both capacities. He also presented a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) in conjunction with James Scott Farrin colleague Matt Harbin, a Workers Comp attorney.
