SRC today announced that it has been appointed as a Nuance Healthcare Connections Premier Partner. The appointment recognises SRC's expertise in training and supporting Dragon® Medical users, and follows the successful deployment of a number of important speech recognition projects into the NHS.

SRC’s growing list of speech recognition customers in healthcare includes Homerton University Hospital, Newham University Hospital, East Kent Hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare and Whipps Cross University Hospital. SRC’s appointment as a Connections Premier Partner follows the recent introduction of Dragon Medical 11, the latest version of Nuance’s medical desktop, real-time speech recognition software.

As a Premier Partner, SRC benefits from access to Nuance Healthcare development teams. SRC’s close relationships with its customers will enable it to provide Nuance Healthcare with valuable customer feedback for future releases of Dragon Medical in advance of their official launch.

Speaking about the new accreditation, Simon Manley, UK Sales Director, Healthcare Division at Nuance said: “This accreditation cements our strategic partnership with SRC and the Nuance Dragon Medical solution. We believe that SRC will help the healthcare market go towards improving clinical letter turnaround times using our speech recognition technologies.”

SRC offers a full range of speech recognition services, including SRC’s “Instant Accuracy” service. This service builds individual voice profiles based on dictation style and background noises, prior to being used. SRC results show that this reduces training times and helps users achieve accuracy rates of up to 95% immediately, increasing with continued use.

Chris Hart, CEO at SRC commented: “The Premier Partner status recognises the time and effort SRC has invested in Dragon Medical speech recognition technology. We can integrate speech recognition with hospital systems such as PAS and also provide mobile options. This means customers have access to a modular range of Dragon Medical solutions to optimise productivity and increase efficiencies.”
