The U.S Energy Information Administration (EIA) recently reported the price for on-highway diesel jumped 7.5 cents per gallon to $3.513, the highest level since October 2008. The national average is 74.4 cents higher than this time last year in all regions with New England leading the price of diesel fuel at $3.717 per gallon. The West Coast rose 9.7 cents to $3.630, the Rocky Mountains up 6.3 cents to $3.459, and the Midwest up 7.6 cents to $3.475 per gallon. The Gulf Coast remained the lowest among all regions at $3.455.
