PAWS go platinum to recognize promotion and public outreach efforts in the in-home pet care industry

Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters has awarded its 2010 Platinum PAW Awards, sponsored by Comfort Zone® products.

Amanda Lacey, owner of Happy Tails Dog Walking and In-home Pet Care in Winchester, Va., received the 2010 Individual Platinum PAW Award for her work promoting professional pet sitting at the Fifth Annual PAWFEST, a public outreach event to help the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties in Virginia.

The 2010 Network Platinum PAW Award was presented to the Greater Dayton Professional Pet Sitters Network for its promotion of the pet-sitting industry at several events, including the 19th Annual Furry Skurry and the 20th Annual Pet Afflaire to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Dayton; as well as Strut Your Mutt to benefit The Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals and PSI's own Hungry Bowl Pet Food Drive.

“The creative marketing strategies and community involvement efforts displayed by both award winners make them a shining example of professionalism in the independent in-home pet-care business,” Patti Moran, PSI President, said.

The Platinum PAW Award was created in 2009 to recognize PSI members and networks for outstanding work associated with promoting professionalism in the pet-sitting industry.

In addition to the award, the winners receive one free registration to PSI’s 2011 Quest for Excellence Convention, $250.00 in cash and a gift basket courtesy of Comfort Zone® products; sponsor of the 2010 Platinum PAW Award.

About Comfort Zone
Developed and recommended by veterinarians, Comfort Zone® products are clinically proven* to help control destructive behavior related to stress in cats and dogs.

Dogs and cats react differently to being away from their owner, but both may feel a certain amount of stress or fear when left alone. Pet behavior problems, such as urine marking in cats and excessive barking or chewing in dogs, are frequently caused by fear or stress.

Like all animals, cats and dogs secrete pheromones. Research has shown that certain pheromones can help an animal cope with these fears or stress-related issues. Comfort Zone® products have been proven to help control stress-related behavior problems naturally by mimicking the pheromones that make him feel more secure in his environment. Comfort Zone® products are available in a diffuser for continuous control in the home or a spray for travel and spot application.
