GEC Events teams up with actress, author and celebration expert, Isabella Wall, aka Teen Party Queen, for the 3rd annual TEEN PARTY EXPO, a celebration of cultural diversity at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Sunday, March 13, 2011, from noon to 5:00 p.m.

The organizers are expecting 10,000 teenagers and their families to attend this one-of-a-kind event billed as the ultimate coming of age celebration showcase for teens who are preparing for their special Quinceañera, Sweet 16, Mitzvah, Filipino Debut, Cotillion and High School Prom.

“Growing up and coming of age is an occasion celebrated all over the world. In the U.S., many cultures celebrate this momentous occasion with a big rocking party for which many parents are willing to spend big bucks. That’s why we’re transforming the Los Angeles Convention Center into a young, cool and hip environment for an unforgettable day of celebrities, red carpet experiences, live music, electrifying DJ Spin-offs, amazing fashion shows, comedy acts, games, prizes and a whole lot more,” says Teen Party Queen Isabella Wall.

Two fashion shows featuring the latest fashion trends from TeenProm Magazine will be hosted by actress Celines Toribio, one of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful People.” Product and service demonstrations will be presented by Hilton Hotels, Hansen Cakes, Horn Blower Cruises Portos Bakery and many more.

Teen Club Expo, a dance club setting erected inside the expo, is designed to give teens a most memorable party experience complete with a celebrity DJ spinoff contest starring DJ Eddie One, DJ Randee, DJose, DJ Giana and DJ Durden mixing it up live.

Every attendee will be entered into a random drawing for the chance to win one of five different culturally themed Grand Prize Party Makeovers.

Boost Mobile, AAA, Muñoz Catering and WSS are the official sponsors of the expo.

“The theme of the TEEN PARTY EXPO is Come Dream, a one-stop destination for innovative ideas that can be used by any and all cultures – whether the plan is for a super celebration or a backyard party. The expo offers expert guests who will deliver positive messages of self esteem, community and family values as well creative party planning,” adds Wall.

Today, in the United States, coming-of-age celebrations are big business. Television networks such as MTV and TLC have created My Super Sweet Sixteen, Quiero Mis Quince and Outrageous Kid Parties, three highly rated reality programs chronicle the expense and drama involved in giving teen and preteen parties. With approximately 400,000 Hispanic girls celebrating their fifteenth birthday each year, Hispanic families spend an average of $15,000 to $20,000 for each of these celebrations. Quinceañeras and Sweet 16 celebrations are a $680 billion dollar industry. The Rand Youth Poll found 13- to 19-year-old females spend approximately $64 billion a year, $31 billion of this on beauty and fashion. Over $2.75 billion a year is spent on a wide variety of prom related “necessities” including dresses, tuxedos, accessories, flowers, beauty products and transportation. It is estimated that the average 17-year-old girl spends over $700 on a prom and couples can spend up to $1200 for this one time celebration.

The TEEN PARTY EXPO will be held Sunday, March 13th from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center located at 1201 S. Figueroa Street. The event is open to the public. Admission is $10.00 at the door.
