The TripAdvisor annual Travel Trends Survey has revealed that one in 10 UK holidaymakers are planning to travel more in 2011 than they did in 2010, with two-thirds planning at least one long-haul holiday this year.
Post Office Travel Insurance is reminding those planning to take a holiday this year to ensure they are adequately covered by their travel insurance policy before they set off for any destination. Having holiday insurance can help ensure holidaymakers do not have to shell out for any additional charges should they face unexpected cancellations or delays, or injuries or illness while they are away.
Post Office Travel Insurance is also reminding frequent travellers that it is often wise to take out an annual travel insurance policy. An annual travel insurance policy can offer the best value for money for those taking several trips within a year, something which may be useful for those seeking to travel more in 2011.
Meanwhile, the TripAdvisor survey also reveals that over a quarter (28 per cent) of UK holidaymakers admit they are more likely to buy travel insurance this year than they were in 2010, in a bid to safeguard themselves against any unforeseen travel problems that may arise.
Post Office Travel Insurance is therefore advising travellers to shop around for the best deals on their travel insurance before departure to ensure they are not being overcharged.
