Leeds-based business woman Sandy Lillis’ company has purchased the website from the former owners after their business ran into difficulties.

Established in 2003, the Soundsavers website has grown to be one of the UK’s largest suppliers of PA systems, audio equipment, disco lighting and musical instruments.

Forming Soundsavers Limited in order to acquire the website after the collapse of Henry Bishop Management (Retail) Ltd, Sandy Lillis' company started trading in December 2010. Sandy explains that the decision to go into business was not taken lightly: “Many people wouldn’t consider starting a new company in the current economic climate but we saw a great opportunity to rebuild an excellent brand that had been tarnished by the collapse of a company.

“We are aware that people have lost money and were frustrated that the previous owner’s company had been placed into liquidation and we’ve spent a lot of time helping where possible. By explaining the situation and providing assistance with returns, and information on routes for reimbursement, we’ve been really encouraged by people wishing the new company success.”

Trading from their new premises in Leeds, the company has quickly established relationships with many leading suppliers including LD Systems, Prolight, Kam, Pulse and American Audio.

Garry Brooks, a respected designer of audio equipment, whose services have recently been employed by Soundsavers, added: “Sandy has recognised that providing the highest levels of technical advice and customer service are key elements to restoring the Soundsavers name. The positive feedback we are getting from customers, both new and returning, is testimony to the fact that the company is succeeding in doing this.”
